Misk Schools students Hussain S and Faris G distinguished themselves at the 25th Asian Physics Olympiad (APhO) 2025. Hussain won a Bronze Medal, placing him among the top young physicists in the competition, while Faris received an Honourable Mention – a strong acknowledgement of his skill and potential.
It is the first time the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has hosted APhO, which took place at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (KFUPM) in Dhahran from 4th until 12th May 2025. The prestigious international competition – which this year was themed ‘Together, We Generate the Energy of the Future’ – welcomed 240 of the brightest high school students from 30 countries, alongside over 100 experts in physics education.
The event was organised by the Ministry of Education, Mawhiba, and the King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals.
These accomplishments reflect the calibre of science education at Misk Schools and the sharp intellectual curiosity these students bring to their work.
