Twenty-two students from Misk Schools represented the school at the WFUNA International Model United Nations in New York, widely regarded as one of the most accurate simulations of the United Nations.

Students from Grades 9 to 12 took part in committee sessions addressing a range of global challenges, from autonomous weapons to the care economy. The conference brought together delegates from around the world, providing a forum for sustained debate, negotiation and policy development.

Several students were recognised with leadership roles during the conference. Kareem K, Khalid M and Turki G were elected as Vice Chairs, selected by fellow delegates to guide committee proceedings and moderate discussion. Their roles required managing debate, maintaining procedural integrity and facilitating consensus across diverse viewpoints.

Danh F, from the Girls’ Schools, was selected as a Plenary Speaker – one of only twelve students chosen from more than 2,000 delegates. She addressed the full conference in the United Nations General Assembly Hall, presenting to an international audience.

Alongside the conference, students visited the Permanent Mission of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations, where they met with Deputy Ambassador Faris Alotaibi. The session offered insight into the practice of international diplomacy and Saudi Arabia’s role in multilateral engagement.

The WFUNA conference provides a structured setting for students to test their ability to debate, negotiate and respond under pressure. Participation, and recognition within it, reflects both preparation and the ability to operate confidently in a global forum.
