Students from Misk Schools made their mark at the Global Model WHO Conference in Geneva, organised by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the World Federation of United Nations Associations (WFUNA).

Hamza S, a Grade 10 student, earned a special distinction as the youngest member of a Drafting Committee – and the only high school student among university graduates and doctors. He helped write the Youth Declaration on Social Connection, which was adopted formally by the World Health Organisation, and by extension the United Nations. His name is included as a co-author.

Grade 11 student Hailah J was selected to deliver a plenary address to the whole conference. She spoke passionately about vaccine hesitancy, behavioural sciences, social connection, prevention of NCDs, mental health, health and migration, as well as digital health and AI from the context of Romania.

Four students were recognised for their exceptional performance in their respective committees. From the Boys’ Schools, Hamza S and Khalid M each received a Diplomacy Award for outstanding contributions. From the Girls’ Schools, Hailah J and Shehana S achieved the same distinction. It is notable that these four young leaders were selected out of over 500 students.

Finally, as part of the Global Experience Event at the conference, the Misk Schools student team hosted a Saudi Arabia booth, featuring Arabic coffee, calligraphy, and presentations on Saudi culture and Vision 2030.

Their achievements showcased the talent and potential of young Saudis engaging with important global challenges.
