Misk Schools is proud to announce that it has been awarded membership of the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), a prestigious global association representing over 300 British international schools across more than 80 countries. This milestone affirms Misk Schools’ commitment to delivering an exceptional international curriculum with a British ethos in Saudi Arabia.
COBIS membership is awarded to schools that meet rigorous standards in quality assurance, safeguarding, and the welfare and development of students, staff, and the wider school community. As part of this accreditation, Misk Schools has also been given Beacon Status for excellence relating to student welfare (COBIS Standard 2b). This is a rare distinction given only to schools that set an outstanding example in supporting students’ physical and mental well-being.
“Our COBIS membership comes at an exciting time as we push boundaries in curriculum design and digital education, inspired by Saudi Arabia's ambitious Vision 2030 strategy,” said Dr Steffen Sommer, Misk Schools’ Director General. “It will allow us to benefit from deeper connections with pioneering educators worldwide, helping us to realise our goal of becoming a global top-ten school through meaningful innovation, rather than relying on established paths.”
COBIS works closely with the UK Department for Education and Department for Business and Trade, ensuring that its member schools maintain the highest international standards. By joining this global network, Misk Schools strengthens its position as a leader in British international education while advancing its mission to provide world-class learning experiences for future leaders in Saudi Arabia.
“We are delighted to welcome Misk Schools to the growing COBIS network,” said COBIS CEO, Colin Bell. “Our mission is to reach, support, empower and connect all British international schools, so they can deliver excellent education to students around the world. Misk Schools’ membership of COBIS only drives us forward in this mission, and we know they will contribute much to the COBIS community, which is built on collaboration, connectivity and a passion for education.”
With this achievement, Misk Schools takes another significant step towards becoming one of the world’s top-ten schools, driven by a commitment to delivering a progressive, holistic curriculum in an environment that prioritises student well-being.
